New Zelands’s Daily J have dropped their much-anticipated sophomore album, Scatterbrains (stream here).
Marking an evolution in the indie rock band’s sound, the record’s release coincides with new single, ‘For Your Leisure’. The lead track taken from the Joe Faris-produced Scatterbrains, ‘For Your Leisure’ is a catchy indie concoction with a swirling modern pop vibe.
In a statement about the tune, the band says: “‘For Your Leisure’ feels like it’s pushing us out of our comfort zone in the best way. It feels like a natural evolution for the band, and if all goes well, it could be a glimpse into where we’re headed next.”
They add that ‘For Your Leisure’ explores “finding light in the chaos - the lost nights, the reckless moments, and the search for something real in all the wrong places. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever felt adrift but still hopeful, caught between the thrill of the unknown and the longing for something deeper.”
