‘Frogs’ is the latest single from Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds’ forthcoming 18th album, Wild God.
The song references the Biblical story of Cain & Able and is one of Cave’s favourites.
“The sheer exuberance of a song like ‘Frogs’, it just puts a big f*cking smile on my face,” he shares in a statement.
You can listen to ‘Frogs’ below.
Wild God is set for release on August 30 and follows 2019’s heartbreaking Ghosteen. The ten track album has been described by Cave in a press release as “a complicated record, but it’s also deeply and joyously infectious.”
Cave adds: “There is never a masterplan when we make a record. The records rather reflect back the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them. Listening to this, I don’t know, it seems we’re happy. There’s no fucking around with this record. When it hits, it hits. It lifts you. It moves you. I love that about it.”
To coincide with the release, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are also releasing a short doco series detailing the recording of Wild God. The Making of Wild God - Part 1 shows the band in the studio and features an appearance by Radiobead’s Colin Greenwood.
Wild God is set for release on August 30. You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.
