Two of Australia’s great rock vocalists have announced a joint performance at The Gov this August. John 'Swanee' Swan and Dave 'Gleeso' Gleeson are coming together for a one-off gig to pay tribute to Swanee's late, great mate Bon Scott.
The two will perform AC/DC classics along with songs from their extensive back catalogues, which includes music from Swanee’s time with The Party Boys and his own solo work, along with Gleeso’s own material and tunes he recorded with The Screaming Jets and The Angels. A few surprises have also been planned for the night.

Swanee, the older brother of Jimmy Barners, started life as a drummer before replacing Bon Scott as the lead vocalist of Fraternity. He stayed with the band for two years before joining Feather in 1977 and then embarking on a solo career a year later.
He earned his first top five charting single in 1981 with his cover of Tim Hardin’s ‘If I Were a Carpenter’. In 1989 he replaced Angry Anderson as vocalist for The Party Boys before going solo once again in 1989.
Swanee has gone on to have a steady career, releasing six studio albums – his most recent being 2014’s One Day At a Time – touring the country regularly and collaborating with a host of top Aussie artists.

Glesso formed hard rockers The Screaming Jets in 1989 with guitarists Grant Walmsley and Richard Lara, bassist Paul Woseen and drummer Brad Heaney. Along with the likes of The Angles and The Choirboys, The Screaming Jets quickly became pub rock favourites and regulars on the live scene.
As well as being the only original member of The Screaming Jets still part of the band, Glesso also took up the mantle of The Angels’ lead singer between 2011-2023 and is a staple on Triple M, hosting his own nightly rock show.
