Boston punk rockers Dropkick Murphys are embarking on their first Australian headline tour in more than a decade this November.
Last in the country as part of Good Things Festival 2008, Dropkick Murphys return to our shores in support of last year’s Okemah Rising, the band’s 12th long player. The Celtic ensemble isn’t coming out alone, bringing Chicago punk rock outfit Alkaline Trio – who just dropped their 10th album Blood, Hair and Eyeballs – along for the ride.
Taking to social media to announce the tour, Dropkick Murphys commented: “AUSTRALIA — it’s been six long years and we’re excited as hell to announce that we’re coming back down !!”
Alkaline Trio also shared their enthusiasm for the tour, remaking: “We are beyond excited to be coming back to Australia in November with Dropkick Murphys!”
The four-date tour begins in Adelaide at AEC Theatre on Friday, November 15. The two bands then make their way to Melbourne for a performance at the Forum Theatre on Sunday, November 17. Then it’s on to the Roundhouse in Sydney on Wednesday, November 20 before the tour comes to an end in Brisbane at Fortitude Music Hall on Friday, November 22.
Early bird pre-sale commences Tuesday, July 2 at 8:30am. You can register here. General sale kicks off Thursday, July 4 at 8:30am local time via Destroy All Lines.

Since forming in 1996, Dropkick Murphys have become one of the biggest bands to come out of Boston. They’ve built a rabid fanbase via constant touring and by crafting songs that become sports anthems, such as ‘The Boys Are Back’, which was used as the theme song by Channel 7 during the 2015 AFL season.
Across their nearly three decade career, the band has released four consecutive Billboard top 10 albums (2011’s Going Out In Style, 2013’s Signed and Sealed in Blood, 2017’s 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory, and 2021’s Turn Up That Dial), accumulated over half a billion streams and performed sold out gigs across the globe.
Chicago’s Alkaline Trio has been out there getting it done for more than 25 years. The two-pronged vocal attack of the band helped set them apart from other 90’s punk acts, with Alkaline Trio making their name on the Warped Tour during the early 00’s.
The band has released ten albums, including two US Independent Chart #1s (Good Morning and This Addiction) and this year’s well-reviewed Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs.
The chance to catch both Dropkick Murphys and Alkaline Trio performing together is one Aussie music fans don’t want to miss out on.
