Tracklist for Mac Miller’s Posthumous Album ‘Balloonerism’ Revealed
Balloonerism was recorded in 2014 and is finally set for release this month.

Mac Miller’s much-discussed lost album, Balloonerism, is finally set to arrive in an official capacity later this month. Miller’s family have announced the finished version of the album will drop on January 17 via Warner Records (pre-order/pre-save here).
Not only do we have a date for the album’s release, but the tracklist has also been shared, along with the spectacular Alim Smith album cover. Balloonerism is a collection of 14 tracks and includes collaborations with SZA and Delusional Thomas. There is no word on whether any other producers bar Miller were involved in the creation of the album.
A statement released by Miller’s estate detailing the reason behind releasing Balloonerism was posted to Miller’s Instagram page. It reads: “Many of Malcolm’s fans are aware of Balloonerism, a full-length album that Malcolm created around the time of the release of Faces in 2014.
“It is a project that was of great importance to Malcolm — to the extent that he commissioned artwork for it and discussions concerning when it should be released were had regularly, though ultimately GO:OD AM and subsequent albums ended up taking precedence.
“We believe the project showcases both the breadth of his musical talents and fearlessness as an artist. Given that unofficial versions of the album have circulated online for years and that releasing Balloonerism was something that Malcolm frequently expressed being important to him, we felt it most appropriate to present an official version of the project to the world.”
The family added: “With that in mind, we’re happy to announce that Balloonerism will be released on January 17th, 2025.”

Balloonerism is the second posthumous Mac Miller release following 2020s Circles, which peaked at #3 on the US Billboard 200.
The songs that feature on Balloonerism were recorded during the making of the Faces mixtape, with Miller ultimately shelving the project in favour of Faces.
It proved a career masterstroke, with Faces a huge commercial and critical success. Many consider it Miller’s greatest body of work, with the deeply personal lyrical content exploring the rapper’s struggle with mental health and drug addiction.
The first single from Balloonerism is ‘5 Dollar Pony Rides’, which drops its Friday.
