Emerging South Asian Australian artist TUSHAR has this week dropped his upbeat sophomore EP, Feels Like A Start (stream the EP here)
Recorded at Danger Deer Studios and Benny’s home studio in Adelaide in collaboration with Benny Tamblyn and acclaimed producer Mario Spate (Elsy Wameyo, Megan Washington, MANE), Feels Like A Start is the perfect soundtrack to your summer.
A fun and joyous mix of indie pop and surf rock arrangements, the album features five catchy tunes led by recent single Tongiht’, a heartfelt, foot-tapping indie number that will have you swooning.
“Creating Feels Like A Start was such a fun and personal journey for me,” TUSHAR shares. “With ‘Tonight’, we wanted to capture those hilariously awkward moments we’ve all had—the kind of late-night calls you cringe at later but can’t help but laugh about. This EP is all about finding joy and humour in life’s little moments, and I hope it brings people a sense of happiness and connection.”
Taking inspiration from the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Wallows, and Dayglow, TUSHAR has crafted an album of jangly guitar riffs, irresistible synths and soaring melodies brought together by his dreamy vocals.
We’re big fans of TUSHAR here at The Note, having called his single ‘Feels Like A Start’ “a wonderful exercise in euphoria” and compared ‘Bloodshot Eyes’ to “the giddy feeling you get at the beginning of a situationship you know will be trouble.”
