Rag’n’Bone Man Leads Bluesfest Artist Sideshow Announcements
The other artists performing solo tours are Allison Russell, RY X, Marc Broussard, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram and BJ The Chicago Kid.
The Bluesfest Byron Bay news keeps on coming this week. After a slew of Aussie acts were announced for the final festival, Bluesfest Tours have today revealed six artists performing at next year’s Bluesfest have also locked in solo shows across the country.
Those six international acts are Rag’n’Bone Man, Allison Russell, RY X, Marc Broussard, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram and BJ The Chicago Kid, although BJ The Chicago Kid has yet to be confirmed for Bluesfest 2025
Sadly for Adelaide music lovers, only Rag’n’Bone Man is making the journey to the City of Churches, with the soulful crooner performing at Hindley Street Music Hall on Friday, April 25.
The Grammy Award-winning Brit returns to our shores for the first time since 2018 and is sure to entertain the masses with his vibrant mix of blues, hip hop, and soul. Currently preparing for the release of his third studio album, What Do You Believe In?, expect Rag’n’Bone Man to bring the house down when he hits Adelaide next year.
Allison Russell, another Grammy Award winner, also makes her return to Australia next year in support of her 2023 album The Returner, with the Canadian singer-songwriter performing in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
Aussie-born RY X might not be a household name in his own country, but the talented ambient folk artist has a large following overseas, particularly across Europe. Merging indie folk with brooding electronica, his live performances are awe-inspiring, with RY X performing two sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.
Marc Broussard touches down in Oz for the first time in 2025, with the soulful troubadour announcing sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney. Renowned for his powerful voice and emotive lyrics, Broussard had a #1 hit on the Billboard Adult Pop Airplay Charts with the single, ‘Gavin's Song (Piano Version)’.
Blues guitarist Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram is also performing two solo gigs in Melbourne and Sydney after his Bluesfest appearance. The 25-year-old has been hailed as the future of modern blues, with the American winning the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album for his 2021 record 662.
Last but certainly not least is singer-songwriter BJ The Chicago Kid. Making his first-ever trip to Australia, the Chicago native is the go-to guy for vocals in hip hop, having collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Anderson .Paak, Chance the Rapper and more. His own tracks mix contemporary R&B with neo-soul influences and experimental beats, crafting unique soundscapes exemplified by his third album, 1123.
Pre-sale tickets for all six sideshows go on sale Tuesday, September 17 at 10:30am local time. You can sign up for access here. General on sale begins Thursday, September 19 at 10:30am via Bluesfest Tours.
