Metallica Are Coming to Perth with More Dates To Follow
More Australian dates are to be announced in the coming weeks.
Several weeks ago, Metallica teased their long-awaited Australian return. Now, Rolling Stone Australia has confirmed they will perform at least one show in Perth on Saturday, November 1.
Sources have revealed to the publication the thrash metal giants will take over the 65,000-seat capacity Optus Stadium before continuing their hotly anticipated M72 tour along Australia’s east coast.
This is big news for Perth metal maniacs and another win for Perth music lovers after Coldplay performed two exclusive sets in the city back in 2023, raking in a reported $8 million.
The rest of the M72 tour dates are expected to drop in the coming weeks, with rumours persisting the band will play at Adelaide Oval along with gigs in Melbourne and Sydney.
The news of Metallica’s Australian first tour broke a few weeks back after the band took to their website to announce a lengthy run of shows across North America, releasing the statement: “Finally, North America is not our only stop in 2025, as this year, we will return to Australia and New Zealand after far too long away!!! Stay tuned for the full announcement coming VERY soon.”
Live Nation followed this by taking to social media and posting an image of the band with the caption: “Sign up to be the first to know.” Next to the comment are several emojis and a link taking you to a page where you can join the Metallica waiting list email.
