Aussie R&B Superstar Ruel Drops New Single ‘Cats On the Ceiling’
The single follows on from Ruel’s five-track covers EP, Adaptations.
Sydneysider Ruel is back with his first original solo track in over a year. ‘Cats On the Ceiling’ is a joyous and shiny pop tune addressing love, loss and letting go.
Speaking about the song, Ruel says: “I think there is so much more out there for us to experience in this life if we can just ‘let go’ of all that pent up self-control from time to time. I wrote ‘Cats’ to express the joy that comes from giving in to the great unknown and I want people to be able interpret that in whatever way feels good to them.”
The song is accompanied by a music video directed by Olivia De Camps featuring Ruel getting his long golden locks trimmed before taking an electric razor to his head, with the singer-songwriter ending up resembling Oceans 12-era Brad Pitt.
