The Wiggles Go Country with New Single ‘Big Red Ute’
The tune arrives after The Wiggles were added to next year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival.

The Wiggles are going down the Beyoncé route with their latest single, ‘Big Red Ute’. A feel-good country strummer, the song finds The Wiggles’ “Cruisin’ in the Big Red Ute / It goes vroom vroom, toot, you beaut!”
Although the music video does come across as a commercial for the latest Toyota Hilux, ‘Big Red Ute’ is another dose of catchy kid pop from Australia’s favourite children’s music group.
The release of the song coincides with The Wiggles being added to next year’s Tamworth Country Music Festival. The group are playing two special shows on Tuesday, January 21 at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre, a venue normally accustomed to hosting Rodeo’s and Horse Cutting events.
“‘Big Red Ute’ is a playful nod to our original ‘Big Red Car’, but with a country rock twist that’s perfect for kids and parents alike,” says Anthony Wiggle (the blue one).
“There’s something truly special about taking everyday things like electric windows, cup holders, and the sound of the engine, and turning them into exciting adventures for children. Young minds have a beautiful way of being fascinated by the simplest things. A child might hear the ‘vroom’ of an engine or see a window rolling up, and suddenly, it’s magic.
“‘Big Red Ute’ is all about celebrating those little wonders that kids notice – things we adults sometimes take for granted. And the best part? It’s a song families can sing and dance to together, and we can’t wait to perform it at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, 21st Jan 2025.”
Tickets for the two shows (10:00am and 4:00pm) go on sale at 8:30am local time on Tuesday, October 15 via this link.
