Your winter just got a whole lot hotter!
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is heating up our winter nights this August! Fresh from the success of their inaugural New Found Sound festival, it has announced it will host an immersive, one-day winter event across two locations in the North-Western suburbs.
On August 3, MELTFest will transform Klemzig Oval and the streets of Port Adelaide into vibrant hubs of winter wonder. From day to night, revel in the magic of the cooler seasons through a jam-packed program of family-friendly activities and evening entertainment. Crackling open fires, homegrown music talent and local art exhibitions – what more could you want from a winter weekend. Did we mention it’s completely free, too?
MELTFest kicks off at Klemzig Oval from 11am to 3pm. The daytime fun is perfect for those with little tackers in tow. Expect food tracks, pop-up exhibitions from emerging artists, performances by Adelaide’s top children entertainers and fun workshops to get involved in.
As the sun sets on the suburbs, MELTFest moves its programming to the waterside precinct of Port Adelaide. Here, punters can meander between over 15 brick and mortar venues hosting innovative art exhibitions and experience some of the best homegrown musical talent. There’ll be an alfresco dining experience too between Commercial Road and Iparrityi Laneway. Sets by SA stars Max Savage, Siberian Tiger and Wake In Fright, as well as emerging talent My Chérie, Ella Ion and Jamie Lena, will soundtrack your winter evening adventure.
“MELTFest is our invitation to South Australians to come out and embrace winter’s charm,” says Mayor of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Claire Boan. “We’re bringing together the best of local talent, from artists and musicians to chefs and performers, to create a warm community celebration in the heart of the cool season. Cosy up to a warm fire, enjoy delicious food, and be surprised by the lively festivities around every corner.”
MELTFest is this August 3. For full program details and transport options, go here.
