February 7 - Noteworthy New Releases

Our favourite releases of the week.

MACËY – ‘Table 85’

Genre-benders MACËY team up with Jongo Bones and the Barefoot Bandits for an industrial shot to the arm of thumping dance-punk beats and aggressive rap-sing vocals. The result? A song reminiscent of UK acts Hadouken! and Bob Vylan. This is an anthem for Australia’s neglected youth: turn it up loud and let it all out.

Full Cream - ‘Top Floor Love’

Emerging five-piece Full Cream have found their groove with this smooth indie barnburner. There’s a contemporary pop vibe to ‘Top Floor Love’ – enticing vocals draw you in before a bluesy guitar solo takes things to the brink during the foot-tapping climax.

Destinezia – ‘Easy On Me’

Destinezia continue their hot streak, pumping out more ear candy with their latest release, ‘Easy On Me’. A flashback to the early ’00s indie boom, the track is effortless, invigorating and fulfilling. However, what’s more impressive is this band is comprised of teenagers. Stellar stuff.

Space Coyote – ‘Funk hauser’

As soon as the opening bass lick of ‘Funk Hauser’ hits, you know you’re in for a fun two-and-a-half minutes. Space Coyote are a funky collective recalling early Red Hot Chili Peppers. This latest effort is a quirky mix of old-school rhymes and uplifting instrumentation that will have you bouncing along.
