Our favourite releases of the week.

Bjéar – ‘Hannah’s Getting MArried’
Folk troubadour Bjéar returns with his second single of 2024, the heartbreaking ‘Hannah’s Getting Married’.
As we’ve come to expect from Bjéar, the single is a soothing, meandering acoustic arrangement, with the singer-songwriter’s hushed vocals detailing his feelings about watching a former partner walk down the aisle.
To celebrate the release of ‘Hannah’s Getting Married’, Bjéar is performing an intimate gig at Thelma alongside singer-songwriter Katie Pomery tomorrow night. Tickets available here.
Street Legal– ‘Cadrio’
Challenging unrealistic body standards, this uptempo track is a synth-laden shot of adrenaline that hits harder than a slap to the face.
A bubbling cocktail of new wave influences, post-punk moodiness and spritely pop melodies combine for a tasty tipple showcasing Street Legal’s songwriting verve.
Dom Sensitive — ‘Critical Energy’
Experimental raconteur Dom Sensitive throws everything at the wall on his debut album Leather Trim and more often than not it sticks. Take ‘Critical Energy’. This carnivalesque freakout pairs a boppy saxophone riff with distorted talk-sing vocals, culminating in a guitar solo Eddie Van Halen would be proud of. Genius
Maybe Hugo – ‘Fall In Line’
After some mood music to soundtrack your night? Look no further than Maybe Hugo’s debut EP, Maybe, Might Be, Could Be.
The multi-instrumentalist delivers slinky late night jams on the five-track project, with the swooning harmonies and sensual production of ‘Fall In Line’ a clear highlight.
Naomi Keyte — ‘Emmylou’
Singer-songwriter Naomi Keyte wears her heart on her sleeve and we love her all the more for it. ‘Emmylou’ serves as a tribute to country icon Emmylou Harris and is a musing on how opposites attract. Keyte’s gorgeous vocals wrap you in a warm embrace you wish would never end.
