April 11 - Noteworthy New Releases

Our favourite releases of the week.

JesseMelancholy – ‘Kiss the SKy’

JesseMelancholy continues to surprise with this powerful pop-punk meets electronic ode about appreciating what you have before it’s gone. A melting pot of influences and styles, the track includes a thumping hip-hop beat, mellow piano line, acoustic strumming and the artist’s signature manipulated harmonies. A big tick in our books!

Placement – ‘More a Curse’

A brooding, dystopian burst of punk-rock with sludgy riffs, ‘More a Curse’ has an unsettling energy that gnaws at your soul. Droning guitars, Malia Werle’s hypnotic vocals and Stu Patterson’s frantic sax lay the foundation for themes of mortality and desolation, with this dark and chaotic expression leaving you craving more.

Nat Luna – ‘Conditions’

Singer-songwriter Nat Luna fuses R&B, pop and dancehall beats to make a sound that’s singular and irresistibly danceworthy. Her latest hit? Club banger ‘conditions’. It’s the perfect song to blast through your speakers on a late-night cruise. This single is also the latest taste of Nat’s forthcoming debut EP, ultraviolet, out later this year.

The Sundials – ‘Finally Free’

You can’t help but smile when listening to The Sundials – the vintage-inspired musical collective who wears their influences on their flowing flares. ‘Finally Free’ is the outfit’s first single since their groove-laden debut album, Flare Pant Party Rock. The soulful, saxophone-infused joy of the track is The Sundials at their absolute best, bringing the party vibes with a side of rock ‘n’ roll.
