The Whitlams are gearing up for an extensive Australian tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1999 double album, Love This City.

Taking to Instagram to announce the tour, the band wrote: “Start your engines, we're thrilled to announce The Whitlams LOVE THIS CITY 25 YEARS TOUR this Oct - Dec 2024, with a brass section to add power and sparkle.”

The Whitlams will play Love This City in its entirety along with a set of their greatest hits. The current lineup finds sole original member Tim Freedman performing alongside Terepai Richmond, Jak Housden and Ian Peres. As the band commented, a brass section will be accompanying The Whitlams on tour, adding a new dimension to the band’s songs.

The ‘Love This City 25 Years’ tour takes in 12 shows across the country starting with two shows in Melbourne at the Corner Hotel. The Whitlams then perform shows in a variety of cities and towns, including Sydney, Thirroul, Perth and Busselton, before their final show in Adelaide.

Tickets for the ‘Love This City 25 Years’ tour go on sale next week via thewhitlams.com.

The follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed third record, Eternal Nightcap, Love This City scored The Whitlams their first ever top 5 ARIA Album chart placing and spawned fan favourites ‘Blow Up the Pokies’ and ‘Thank You (for loving me at my worst).’

The Whitlams will be supported by Kim Salmon & Ashley Naylor's Tag Team Classic for their two Melbourne gigs, while Charm of Finches will play all other shows on the tour.
