WOMADelaide have unveiled a further 25 acts that will make up the 2025 festival bill. The new additions include Nigerian Queen of Afropop Yemi Alade, Jamaican Grammy-nominated reggae and dancehall superstar Protoje & The Indiggnation and iconic 90s hip hop trio Digable Planets.

They join an already incredible lineup of talented artists from across the globe that includes British singer-songwriter PJ Harvey, psychedelic trio Khruangbin, Berlin-based composer Nils Frahm and pioneering electro-pop star Róisín Murphy.

Held at Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla from Friday, March 7 to Monday, March 10, 2025, WOMADelaide Festival Director, Ian Scobie AM had this to say about next year’s festival: “WOMADelaide is when Adelaide throws its arms around the world to welcome, share, discover and celebrate music, arts and dance and today’s announcement of 47 groups from 28 countries demonstrates why it truly is the world’s festival.”

Today’s announcement also includes Canadian Inuk artist Elisapie, contemporary UK folk singer-songwriter Bess Atwell, Peruvian-born, Berlin-based DJ Sofia Kourtesis and rising Sydney/Eora-based artist DEVAURA. There’s also baritone saxophonist Joe Henwood and drummer Tash Keary, an instrumental duo from the UK who go by the name O., and organic-electronic dance floor starters Nana Benz du Togo

The Central Australian Aboriginal Women's Choir will serenade punters with their ancient songs in Western Arrarnta and Pitjantjatjara languages, while The Australian Art Orchestra’s (AAO) Artistic Director Aaron Choulai has formed a choral, Ane Ta Abia, in collaboration with 12-piece Tatana Village Choir in celebration of the 50th year of Papua New Guinea’s Independence.

It’s not just national and international acts who get the chance to take the stages at WOMADelaide, with two amazing local artists chosen from the annual WOMADelaide x Northern Sound System Academy music development program. At a recent showcase to decide who gets to play WOMAD, proud Eastern Arrernte man Bousta (who is originally from Mparntwe/Alice Springs) and Sri Lankan-Australian artist Meena De Silva got the nod. Bousta is a rising hip hop MC who raps in English and Arrernte and uses his music to highlight his culture and inspire Indigenous youth, while De Silva is an exciting pop meets R&B creative who merges her classical training with modern sounds.

You can check out the full lineup of artists performing below and grab weekend and single-day tickets now via the WOMADelaide website.

It’s not just the music that makes WOMADelaide Australia’s best music and arts festival, with a large range of workshops and installations making the festival a truly unique event.

The WoMarkets return in 2025, with over 40 retail stalls selling wares from different cultures along Plane Tree Drive. The Studio theatre space will once again set up shop within Adelaide Botanic High Gym with a variety of performances and an enviable lineup of international food trucks will be on hand to keep punters satisfied. There’ll also be plenty of bars to keep everyone hydrated during the day and long into the night.

Also returning is the fine-dining experience of the Sanctuary Restaurant at Adelaide Zoo, the KidZone to keep the young ones entertained and the three-day conversational forum Planet Talks.

Speaking on next year’s festival, Minister for Tourism South Australia, Zoe Bettison says: “True to WOMADelaide’s roots, this impressive line-up showcases the best of music, dance, art, and thinking from every corner of the world.  We know for more than 30 years WOMADelaide has attracted music lovers and festivalgoers from across the state, country, and world to the heart of our city – and with this diverse line-up, 2025 will be no different.

“This is exactly why the State Government has committed to supporting WOMADelaide for the next five years, to help ensure the festival continues to bring world-class acts, attract visitors, and fill hotel rooms. Now is the time to start locking in your March long weekend plans in South Australia, to discover why Adelaide is the nation’s only UNESCO City of Music.”

WOMADelaide is held at Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla from Friday, March 7 to Monday, March 10, 2025. Tickets are on sale now via womadeliade.com.au.
