Andy Summers, the legendary guitarist from British trio The Police, has announced ‘An Evening With’ Australian tour.

The multimedia experience – inspired by his recent solo tour ‘The Cracked Lens + A Broken String’ – features Summers performing The Police tracks and his own solo material while sharing stories and photographs from his six-plus decade-spanning career.

The man who played on The Police's hits ‘Message in a Bottle’, ‘Every Breath You Take’, ‘Can’t Stand Losing You’, ‘Walking on the Moon’ and more is performing four intimate venues across the nation this September.

‘An Evening With’ starts in Melbourne on Tuesday, September 24 at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Summers then takes the show to Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Wednesday, September 25 before playing City Recital Hall in Sydney on Thursday, September 26. The final leg of the tour occurs at Hindley St Music Hall in Adelaide on Friday, September 27.

Tickets for the tour go on sale Monday, June 17 via Ticketmaster.

First finding success as a member of Soft Machine in the 60s, Summers’ career took off when he hooked up with Sting and Stewart Copeland and formed The Police. They went on to become one of the biggest bands in the world before calling it quits in 1986, less than a decade after forming.

Summers has continued to have success as a solo artist, releasing several albums, composing film scores and collaborating with a wide range of artists. His photography has also been well received, with Summers holding exhibitions across the world.

Tickets for Andy Summers’ ‘An Evening With’ at Hindley St Music Hall go on sale Monday, June 17 at 8:30am via Ticketmaster.
