A few more places to add to your food and booze bucket-list...
The Refreshment Centre
Port Elliot’s Yeo Haus has long been the go-to place for surfy threads and a sunny beer, and now the Fleurieu favourite has opened a new venture – the Refreshment Centre. The red-brick sawtooth warehouse combines the best bits of Yeo Haus. There are surfboards and oversized tees, a coffee machine running DeGroot Coffee Co beans, vegan pastries, craft beers and burgers with the lot. Friday knocks here are a delight: smash a burger and pint of Yeo Haus draught before boogying to the in-house DJ spinning tracks late into the evening.
Yes Please: A bacon and egg brekkie burger with an iced oat latte.
Where: 5/10 Elliott Street, Port Elliott.

Good Burger
From the brains behind Good Gilbert (winner of Australia’s Best Wine Bar), comes Good Burger, the Daw Park diner slinging smashed patties, fried chicken and loaded fries inside bright orange, art-covered digs. Like its sister venue, the Americano-style venue takes pride in what boozy drinks it pours, with spiked sodas, craft brews and half bottles of wine on offer to wash down your feed. It’s also an unpretentious eatery with bougie flavours – a gooey raclette cheese is freshly scraped onto beef patties and fries, hot honey is drizzled over juicy fried chicken and there are tasty prawn rolls to try. Yum!
Yes Please: The Daw Park cheeseburger: a smash patty covered in raclette cheese, cornichons and shallots sandwiched in a potato bun.
Where: 588 Goodwood Road, Daw Park.

Home of Plenty
This new winery and cellar door in Currency Creek feels like it’s straight from the sunny California desert. A scattering of cacti, all-white walls, natural materials and minimalist design set the calm, coastal atmosphere, while the vibrant artwork (painted by owner Ben Shaw) and vinyl player bring the vibe. Lounge on the lawn of the winery while tasting your way through its single vineyard pours (our fave is the spiced and bright chilled, Sangiovese). Fill up on fluffy slices of salted bread and oil or sardines with a squeeze of lemon. Walk-ins only.
Yes Please: Fresh burrata drizzled in honey and topped with hazelnuts.
Where: 261 Myrtlegrove Road, Currency Creek.

Sunnys Shop
Adelaide was left devasted after a fire at Rosemont Hall in 2021 saw the venue’s two restaurants, Sunnys Shop and Mr Chan, close down. But the foodie gods have heard our prayers! You can now grab a takeaway feed from Sunnys seven nights a week after it quietly re-opened just before the new year. The cult-favourite eatery is best known for the fresh, punchy Asian fusion flavours it uses in courses like soft shell crab, banana blossom chicken and pad Thai, which you can now indulge in from the comfort of your home. Stay tuned for Rosemont Hall to open (hopefully) soon!
Yes Please: Steamed prawn dumplings in a red curry sauce.
Where: 106 Prospect Road, Prospect.
